Trump won because of the rustbelt and silent majority

The main reason why Clinton lost the election is that she lost the rustbelt states(Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania). It's amazing how states like Iowa and Ohio that are usually swing states were won by nearly double digits by Trump and I'm amazed that solid blue states like Maine and Minnesota which Obama won by 15% and 8% were won by clinton by only 3% and 2%...it really seems like areas with high white populations were where Clinton lost support.

Let me just say this and it that 2016 wasn't a "white-lash" like many have said. Clinton lost not because of of high white turnout, but the opposite: white turnout stayed the same or declined slightly while turnout among blacks went down by quite a bit while many young voters went to 3rd parties. The only states where Clinton increased in support were California, DC, Utah, Washington, Massachusetts, Texas, Arizona, Virginia, Kansas, Virginia and Georgia...those are states that either are 100% certain to go to clinton or are places with high minority populations.

Despite all the people who are bitching that Clinton won the popular vote don't realize that protesting in large crowds in California, Illinois and New York won't help their cause because those states will be solid democrat forever. Instead they should protest in places Trump narrowly won like Wisconsin, Florida, Michigan and Pennsylvania. You know places that they need to change hearts and minds in.

Clinton won California by around 30%, that's the biggest margin of victory there since FDR in 1936. No matter how many people vote in California, New York or Illinois, it won't matter because if you get the most votes in a state, you win it all. The democrats are living in a freakin' echo chamber with no places no spread.

The problem with the democrats is that they focus too much on minorities and not enough on white people and I know america is becoming more diverse, but for the for see able future, white people's lives and problems matter too!

Maybe if so many democrats weren't so lazy and if they actually voted, then they could've got a different result, but to those protesters that are complaining...unless you voted, you need to shut the hell up! Because you should never just assume your side will win because if you do then anything can happen.

The polls showed Clinton ahead on a weighed average of 4-6% in Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin and there were times where she had on average double digit leads in all of those states, but in the end Trump won them all by 1%.

In 2012, Obama won those making less than $30,000 by 28%, Clinton won them by 12% and less of them showed up to vote so that means it makes up less of the electorate.

Trump won the Catholic vote which is a demographic Obama won in 2012. So every christian religion voted for trump this time around.

Gary Johnson took more votes away from clinton than trump which is surprising...I mean wow.

Maybe in the future Democrats should talk more about the economy instead of social issues. People tend to say that Republicans lose when they talk about social issues like abortion, maybe Democrats alienate many moderate and center right voters when they talk about fringe issues like systemic racism, BLM, allowing refugees in the country.

Besides in the rustbelt, they tend to vote more on economic issues rather than blaming white people for everything and acting as if it's not a big deal when they're unemployed and worries of who's coming into the country. Did Clinton even realize that the rustbelt is mostly white and voted for Obama twice not because he's black, but because he at least tried to appear as if he cared about the economy and them.

In 2008, Obama turned states that were gop for decades such as North Carolina, Indiana and Virginia blue and he almost won Montana and Missouri, he redrew the map for how Democrats can win.

In 2016, Trump turned states such as Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania red for the first time in 3 decades.

Trump is the GOP's version of Obama because just like him he's able to connect with people, he won states that his party hasn't won in decades, is a cultural figure and focused on the economy.

I also think Clinton's alt-right speech made anyone who opposed anything she said even little bit viewed as racist. Maybe instead of silencing people who have a different opinion which makes them lie about who they'll vote for, maybe she could have addressed their anxieties and concerns over illegal immigration and the huge flood of refugees coming into the country.

Maybe Democrats should start chanting white jobs matter instead of black lives matter because they clearly don't really care for either!
